The Youth Exchange Programme between Korea and Japan has been organized since 1999. 93 Korean Girl Scouts were invited to Japan under the theme 'Build a better world'. The theme's aim is that girls become aware of their potential to transmit their opinion to society by themselves and to take action to build a better world.
During the programme, approximately 300 Korean Girl Scouts joined in the Girl Scout Gathering, a programme held in all seven regions of Japan from August to October for Senior Girl Scouts and Ranger Girl Scouts. The theme was selected from WAGGGS' seven key messages on adolescent health by girls who are members of the planning committee of each region. The attendees held discussions on the chosen theme, promoting activities to build a better world and influence society.
