New Zealand International Jamboree 2012

GirlGuiding New Zealand extends a warm invitation to Member Organizations to send up to eight girls and two leaders to their International Jamboree 2012. The age group is for girls aged 12-18 years at the time of the event. Further information will be sent in early 2011.

The venue, Tui Ridge is 17 kms from the city of Rotorua – voted NZ’s best city in 2010! Tui Ridge is a wonderful site with plenty of room for activities and camping, great facilities and easy access to the city, lake and mountains. The Park is nestled in 170 hectares of beautiful New Zealand forest, with commanding views of Late Rotorua, Mt Tarawera, Mokoia Island the surrounding countryside.

A fantastic programme is being planned for participants. Girls will be having loads of fun in the water, doing adventure courses, crafts, dance, community action etc. More information will be coming in 2012.

It is anticipated that approximately 3,500 girls and adults will attend the Jamboree. The camp will be divided into eight groups of approximately 400 girls and leaders. International girls will be divided into pairs and will join with New Zealand girls.

Home Hospitality is offered before or after the event, if required. An optional tour of the North Island will also be offered before the event and further details will be sent early next year.
