Senior Advocacy Co-ordinator

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of girls and young women around the world? Are you interested in working with a global education and advocacy organization?
The Senior Advocacy Co-ordinator helps to develop and implement WAGGGS’ advocacy programme, currently focused on the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. You will co-ordinate our presence at international advocacy events, manage key partnership relationships with the UN and NGOs, support our network of volunteers across the world, develop policy and position statements and lobbying plans to influence decision makers on issues important to girls and young women and consult with and support girls and young women to advocate themselves.
We are looking with someone with excellent advocacy and policy experience and with extensive knowledge of global and regional decision making institutions. You will show great initiative and creativity and will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to manage complex relationships in a global environment.
With ten million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from 145 countries, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is the largest voluntary movement dedicated to girls and young women in the world. We support girls and young women to develop their full potential as responsible citizens of the world, focusing on leadership development and active citizenship. These are delivered through our innovative global education, community action and advocacy programmes.
You must be fluent in English and able to work in the UK.
Environment Project Co-ordinator

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of girls and young women around the world? Are you interested in working with a global education and advocacy organization?
The Environment Project Co-ordinator will help develop and implement strategies for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts’ Global environment programme, you will manage significant funded environment projects, working with our Member Organizations and girls and young women across at least 20 countries, you will co-ordinate WAGGGS’ international lobbying effort and support our UN teams in several countries.
We are looking with someone with excellent project management and advocacy experience, with extensive knowledge of environmental issues and institutions. You will show great initiative and creativity and will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to manage complex relationships in a global environment.

Events Co-ordinator

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of girls and young women around the world? Are you interested in working with a global education and advocacy organization?
The Events Co-ordinator will leverage our centenary to raise our profile externally and within our Membership base, including co-ordinating our 10 April centenary celebration activities. You will work with Member Organizations to set up and run Centenary projects and position the launch of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting into the next centenary. You will work cross departmentally to develop an organization wide events strategy and best practice toolkit, using several key events in 2012 and 2013 to pilot the approach.

GUEST SERVICES CO-ORDINATOR: CONFERENCE
Pax Lodge, LONDON
Salary from £10,000 per annum plus free board and lodging
Pax Lodge is the place for members and families of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) to meet in London. We offer accommodation, conference facilities, international volunteering programmes and employment opportunities, and a wide range of activities.
We are looking for someone to assist the Deputy World Centre Manager: Guest Services with the smooth running of the Pax Lodge conference facilities. The successful applicant will be responsible for the administration of our conference room facilities and for assisting to identify and develop new income streams for Pax Lodge. In addition the role involves regularly undertaking a Manager on Duty role.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy working in an international team and have first class administration and customer service skills. Experience working in a conference venue is desirable.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, with knowledge of other languages desirable but not essential.
This is a fixed term contract position for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Free board and lodging is provided, this is a residential post, plus a salary from £10,000 per annum.
