215 Development of A Camp Site

Sri Lanka - Support the development of existing camp to ensure the safety and security of its members
Sri Lanka Girl Guides were seeking funding development of a camp site, by building a surrounding wall to encourage all provinces to use the site. In 2004 SLGGA was given ownership of land and introduced the National Training Centre which is becoming increasingly popular. The funding was needed to increase the safety and security of the site for members of the association. Receiving funding for this project this will encourage more members to participate at national trainings, create more out door activities for girls, provide girls with more opportunities to meet leaders and trainers nationally and to increase more licensed campers.
This project has been funded in full by Girl Guides/Girl Scouts in Denmark and Japan through the Mutual Aid scheme.
