Centenary stories

Centenary celebrations- ChileHave you used your skills and experiences to set up a project in a school or community? Has Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting given you an opportunity to excel in your career?

Has Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting taken you or somebody you know out of a vulnerable or difficult situation and given you opportunities that you wouldn’t otherwise have had? Or do you have examples of how Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting has transformed a community? How has the project/activity transformed the lives of the beneficiaries?

Then, we want to hear from you! We want to celebrate “100 years of changing lives” through your personal stories – from the grassroots upwards. We are looking for stories which demonstrate the transformative effect of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting on a community or an individual. These stories will be used for our publicity and media work and for our centenary celebrations at events like the World Conference.

The story should include:

  • The name and country of the individual or the project and contact details for further information
  • An approximate age of the individual
  • Your name
  • Photographs (if possible)
  • An indication of whether you have any more information, photos etc.

Please return your stories to the Centenary Coordinator, World Bureau (centenary@wagggsworld.org).
