I am thirty-four years old and a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts. I have made my re-committment to the Girl Scouts for the one-hundred year anniversary. The Girl Scouts and the Girl Guides are not only a movement but it is a way of life. I can't tell you the way it has enriched my life over the years. I want to do what I can to keep us going another 100.

I am a Unit Girl Guide Leader in Newfoundland, Canada and we also celebrate 100 years in the Guiding movement in Canada this year. Not that long ago Newfoundland Girl Guides were involved in twinning with the island of Mauritius. We are also a tiny island. Congratulations, Mauritius. Our area hosted a big Birthday Party at our local hockey arena on May 15th. Other units all across Canada hosted various birthday parties on that same day. We had a wonderful time. Hats off to the late Lady Baden-Powell!

Hi I'm Emily from 2nd Broadwaters & Wolverley Guides. I am enjoying our Centenary year because special trips and activities have been organised for us. Guides opens up lots of opportunities and gives me the chance to try lots of different things. I hope that in 100 years every girl in the world would be able to be a Guide and they are able to have the same freedom as me.
Jordan - 24 April 2010 - 9.30PM (GMT)
One reason why Guides is so much fun is camps and trips out. We go to museums, walks and much much more. I get the chance to meet new people, play games and have fun.
I hope that Guides around the world have as much fun as I do at Guides

Guides is special to me because it is a place where I can be creative and express my feelings with friends in a safe secure enviroment and I wish girls all around the world could have the same opportunities like I have at Guides and this is my wish for the future.

Stormie - 24 April 2010 - 9.12PM (GMT)
I come to Guides to have fun, play games, make new friends, build self confidence and enjoy team work by working in my Patrol in a boy free zone.
Jo Bradley - 24 April 2010 - 9.08PM (GMT)
I have challenged my Guide unit in England to come up with 100 messages about what Guides means to them, what they would like Guides to be like in the future and how it has changed their life to celebrate 100 days of our centenary year. I have selected one from each Guide and posted them for all to see. Personally like to see the Guides grow and develop from children into young women who have gained self confidence, are knowledgable about the world about them and are an asset to their families and their community.

Happy Centenary WAGGGS!
Our community (Warwick Rhode Island USA)had an Outdoor Day at Camp Cookie. Our Older Girls had to plan their own station that represented a country. There was 7 stations for that day that represent 7 different countries. The younger girls went to each station and played a game and an activity from that country. It was a good time had by all. There was over 120 girls and adults who attended this event. We are planning next year's WAGGGS event for our community.
Francesca Bonner - 10 April 2010 - 12.10PM (GMT)
Happy centenery day people!
i just want to say that it has been a great time at guides for me even when i started way back in '08. I cant beleive it has been 100 years of guiding already! Mind you i wasnt even born when it started so how would i know? =0D
I have learnt so much at guides. But what i mostly remember was learning how to make icing sweets and how to dance a scotish dance!
My leaders have been so good at guides, buying us shortbread for scottish night, letting us doodle all the time and just chat away! But thats not all we do. I would like to think that i am part of a big family of guides and scouts from all over the world, trying to make it a better place. I would like to thank my leaders, Pat and Wendy for everything and my patrol, the penguins for being such a good team.

Being part of the Girl Scout of the Philippines is one of the best decisions I've made. I learned to be always on the go and be of service to my fellow men. Now that we are celebrating the 100 years of WAGGGS. I want to congratulate everyone who exerts effort to make this movement effective and successful. I'm pretty sure a lot of girls have been inspired to do more and become more because of the people behind the WAGGGS. Hope that this will continue to blossom so that for the next 100 years we shall see a world of free men, women and children from the abject and dehumanizing conditions of extreme poverty ( The Millennium Declaration, adopted by the world leaders' promise). So let's be girl scouts in the real sense of the word and TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.
Dana Alyssa A. Maestrado - 10 April 2010 - 3.52AM (GMT)
Girl Scouting builds my self-confidence - Not only so,the activities involved made me an alert, active, disciplined and a strong, better person. I feel lucky and privileged to e part of this organization - meeting new friends, doing various activities and improving myself. I wish to see an enormous growth in the number of girl scouts 100 years from now. That these girl scouts would live after the girl scout law and that these girl scouts would create a better, peaceful world.
Madeleine Bollozos - 10 April 2010 - 3.50AM (GMT)

Michelle Perez - 10 April 2010 - 3.47AM (GMT)
Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting is not just all about adventure games, handy craft making and etc. but it is also about girls becoming pervious leaders who are off duty and off service to everyone in the wide world. I am very proud to be a part of WAGGGS and to be a girl scout because it has helped me in becoming to be the best of who I am.
I hope and wish for another 100 years of Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding and that it will touch the lives of so many girls the way it touched my life.
Happy 100 years of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting!
Ma. Angelika D. Soberano - 10 April 2010 - 3.47AM (GMT)
Hello, my fellow girl scout!!
World Association of Girl guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is celebrating today their 100th anniversary of the establishment of the first official Guide association.
The 100 years of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting are years of many sleepless nights, years of tired and busy days, and years of lending a hand. It involves the leading, routing, managing, and directing girls and young women of today's generation in developing and achieving the UN's eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which are the eight specific goals to be met by 2015 that aim to combat extreme poverty across the world. Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting initiates programs, projects, and activities that involves proper training for girls and also encouraging them to make a personal commitment to change the world through their own little ways. For the coming 100 years, I would like to see the movement as an international airport. International Airport because anytime and anywhere, individuals and travelers who wants to explore the world always enter here. Just like the movement, I want to see individuals especially those adolescents and even the toddlers enter and together explore things. They enter to learn and discover new things and go to share and apply their knowledge for the good of their lifestyles.

Ive been a member of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines for more than 9 years since my elementary days. As the years passed by, i have witnessed the growth of me and my fellow Girl Scouts not only as a mere member of this wide organization, but as a young independent women who are willing to commit theme selves for a cause. A hundred years of Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding has provided us knowledge and experiences that each and everyone of us could pass on to the next generation. It as proven a great deal that we Girls can do more! I have great hopes that the future generation would exceed my expectations. So cheers to us Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all over the world and may the good Lord bless us all.
Kirsten Bebis - 10 April 2010 - 3.43AM (GMT)
It is such a great honor to be part of the Girl Scouts. I've been a Girl Scout for 10 years here in the Philippines. And for that long period of service to the GSP, the values this organization has taught me and remained to be a guide for me to grow and nurture myself into becoming a senior girl scout.
Now that we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the WAGGGS, I hope that we must remember the true essence of being a girl scout that a girl scout is not only shown through wearing of uniforms but through actions and words.
Have a great day!!!

Happy Centenary Celebration Day!
I'm very happy to be a part of this celebration, a memorable milestone for the WAGGGS, 100 years of changing lives. Changing the lives of girls and helping them change the lives of the people around them. All the people who have been with us could never forget their experiences and all that they have learned from joining the GSP.
My message to my fellow Girl Scouts and Girl Guides is to just keep going and enjoy what they do, because there is no limit to what we can achieve.. Congratulations! =D
God bless you all!
With love,

I am the district Leader for our local area and to start this 100 year celebration we have taken a huge leap and expanded to a community area just outside of our own town and there are 30 girls per week and 4 new leaders. On the 29th March the girls and leaders will be having their first promise ceremony with everyone making their promise. Our own area of town has 40 members in it so this now brings our district to approx 70 girls and 12 leaders. This is a great way of starting 100 years of Guiding and to shine our Guiding Light all around.
Ivy Wasike - 25 March 2010 - 9.37AM (GMT)
After 13 years of leaving High School our Young Leaders Unit in the company of our centenary Ambassador visited a Ranger Company to spread the message of 100 years of Guiding and guess what! As I read 100 years of changing lives, I only can think of how true it is. Anyone I have met who once in their lives belong to the guide movement, I realize how well they remember those times as ones where they learned, made new friends, shared happy moments and helped many people in many ways. This marked their lives forever for sure!
There are so many ways you mark the lives of our poor children everytime the come to your fabulous place, Our Cabaña. For this, congratulations to Our Cabañas 53rd anniversary and 100 years of girl guiding!

This is my first message of a 100. I'm a returning Leader, after almost 12 years of absence. This saturday, during my Troop meeting, I'll tell my fellow Guides about my desire to join the Centenary celebration and invite them. I'll keep you posted on their answers!
Mariama Johnson - 29 January 2010 - 8.53PM (GMT)
Guess What! This year, in 2010, I am starting a new Company of over 30 guides in one of the Secondary Schools in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Our first meeting was excellent, the guides enjoyed it and are beginning to have an understanding of guiding. They were informed that 2010 is the start of the Centenary celebrations and that they are unique.
Heather - 29 January 2010 - 3.29AM (GMT)
I just now realized that as chance may have it I am starting to work with my first troop as an assistant leader in 2010... the Centenary! I guess that's how I'll be celebrating - and I'm so excited to share this heritage with the girls in my troop.
What else is everyone doing?
