Day one

Friday -Getting to know each other on a fantastic Friday

The first day of the Lead & Advocate Seminar taught us all how much we have in common, despite our 23 different countries of origin (two more coming soon).

After traveling more than 423 hours to arrive at Sangam, we participated in a “Coming Together” ceremony to meet each other and the dedicated Sangam staff. Next, we learned the house rules and about WAGGGS. Our day was sprinkled with delicious tea and cookie breaks, and a wonderful Indian lunch. We spent an afternoon establishing our own definition of leadership and advocacy, followed by conversations about our first leadership experiences.

Dinner was an Indian take on Mexican food, and our first day culminated with a lively international programme and snacks. We retired generally tired from traveling but full of hope for the rest of the seminar.

The seminar taught us all how much we have in common even when we are from different countries.
