Global Action Theme
WAGGGS’ Global Action Theme (GAT) is girls worldwide say “together we can change our world,” which focuses on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The GAT will replace Our Rights, Our Responsibilities as the WAGGGS theme from 2009 onwards. The theme encourages girls, young women and members of all ages to make a personal commitment to change the world around them. It also affirms WAGGGS’ commitment to the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.

Environtment-Our Association is working on 3R concept. Guides and non Guides are trained and give them a chance of practicing in their homes and with their neighbours. Each province gets actively involved in spreding the message of 3R for the community at a famouse religious event. It is shown in our website: slggaprojects.wordpress.com/keep-the-environment-clean-3r-project/

Will the Resource Packs being developed for Member Organizations also include materials designed for the troop leader in the field, or is this planned to be distributed only to the Member Organizations of the WAGGGS member countries? We need to TAKE ACTION and time is of the essence. Information in the hands of troop leaders working directly with girls could expedite our effectiveness in achieving our MD Goals.
WAGGGS responds:
Thank you for your comment. The resource materials will include guidelines for Member Organizations but also there will be a GAT Badge curriculum which is aimed at unit Leaders of all age sections of Girl Guides/Girl Scouts. The curriculum will be available to download from this website in April 2009.
