UK will host the 34th World Conference

The 34^th World Conference will take place in 2011 in Edinburgh, UK.  

The Girlguiding UK delegation at the 33^rd World Conference was very pleased with the results of the voting session. Angela Milln from Girlguiding UK says: “We are so excited. It’s fantastic to be able to get the news back to the UK  and tell them that the world is coming to the UK ! It will be very special to host the Conference during the Centenary of Guiding.”

When the bid was announced at the end of the voting session, Malaysia, the other bidder, congratulated them on their success. Angela says: “It has been a very friendly bid. Malaysia was a very good competitor.”

During the closing session, Girlguiding UK received the World Flag from South Africa.
