16 Days: Safe Spaces in Canada - Day 12

6 December 2012

16 Days in CanadaGirl Guides of Canada have been busy raising awareness of violence against girls during the 16 Days of Activism. Guiders and Commissioners in Canada have been blogging on why violence against girls is an issue that needs everyone’s attention and support. December 6 marks Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women and is an opportunity for people to reflect on actions they can take to eliminate violence against women and girls in their community.

To mark the 16 Days of activism against gender-based violence, Girl Guides of Canada have had 6 teenagers blogging and using social media to show their support in ending violence against girls (#6teensfor16). Check out Girl Guides of Canada’s Twitter to read blogs and posts from the 6 teens. Also look at the Pinterest they have created for 16 Days. Repin their boards to raise awareness of violence against girls.

Don’t forget to also add your voice to the Stop the Violence campaign counter. From a whisper to a shout we will end violence against girls.
