Juliette Low Seminar 2006

The prestigious Juliette Low Seminar occurs twice each triennium. The event provides a platform for young women from around the world to discuss leadership issues and develop their leadership skills.

Some of the bright young leaders of the futureThis year, the theme was ’Values-based Leadership in an International Setting’ and it took place from 27 August 2006 to 2 September 2006.

The Sangam World Centre hosted the event and participants attended sessions on all aspects of leadership and leadership development. There was also an opportunity to visit local organisations to discuss leadership in an Indian context.

What happened? Read the daily updates!

During the seminar, the young women participating posted daily updates to this section.  Visitors to the site left comments which were read out during reflections every morning.

Each day has its own page so look out for polls, news and photos.  Don’t forget to take part in the polls – we still want to find out from YOU what your opinion is on burning issues from the seminar!

Hello from Scotland!

How are you feeling? Confused?

I've been reading my JLS journal and that's how I felt on day 5. I wanted to get out there and change the world but I didn't want to say goodbye to all my inspirational new friends. I felt incredibly lucky to be part of it all but I couldn't understand why this rebellious Scout had been chosen over so many other amazing young women.
I wasn't even sure who I was anymore... Everything about my life was changing.

I think we all discovered that change is difficult but by the end we stood on top of the world together sparkling like stars. Even now, we're still holding each other up there. We have learned to believe in ourselves and we'll never forget to believe in each other.

JLS is an incredible journey so make the most of every last second. We're all enjoying reading your story - it reminds me of so many of the special things we did in Mexico. I don't think I ever stopped laughing :o)

Believe in yourself and you CAN achieve anything. It just might not happen as quickly as you'd like - be patient and keep trying!
