Our Voice
WAGGGS' Vision is to be the voice of girls and young women to build a better world. This is what advocacy is about. Advocacy is about speaking out to influence others and bring about positive change.
Several definitions of advocacy exist already. This is WAGGGS’ definition of advocacy. Whatever the issue, advocacy for the World Association always includes speaking, doing and educating.
We aim not only to speak out on behalf of girls and young women everywhere, but also to empower young women to speak out for themselves.

I stated Guides in Brownies when I was seven. I moved to Guides when I was 10. My leaders name is Sandra. Guiding is the only group activity I participate in so it was really different when I started. I really enjoy it now and go every week possible.

This is my second year in guiding and I am enjoying it so much. I went to J'08 in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was awesome and I enjoyed it so much. I also learnt heaps about WAGGGS and Girl Guides.

1. if you turn of the water while brushing your teeth you save 3 gallons of water a day.
2. take shorter showers
3. when you wash your face fill the sink weith water instead of keeping the water running.

I love this web site! It taught me a lot about saving water. I now know more than I ever did about water. The thing that amazed me the most was that Egypt was one of the countries that have the most water. I always thought Egypt was a dry environment with scarce, amounts of water. A few tips I recommend are...try to turn off the water when you brush your teeth, try taking shorter showers, and only use water when absoluty necessary. Following these tips are sure to help you save water, not only for your family but the people around you.

Happy Thinking Day.... wanted to celebrate this momentus occasion to all girl scouts and girl guides of the world. Water is an important part of every persons life, and we need to use it where it counts, and we should always, when using water... conserve it in all ways possible. So remember bottled water comes from the tap!!! It's nothing special, so save the plastic, and turn on the faucet... but dont turn it on too long!!!

it's great being a guide i have been one sience i was 5 years old and now i am a leader taking 2 units of my own. recently i have been to new zealand to go for there 100 years of guiding and made so many new friends that i wish to return at the end of the year to see them.

I have been a leader in Girl Scouts USA for 7 years and enjoyed greatly. My daughter is a Cadette Scout and working on her Silver Award which required completion of a 40 hr project involving the community not just scouts. I have seen her develop from a lonely girl with few friends to a leader among girls, eager to help others. She especially enjoys working with the younger groups to earn their badges and awards. I hope to send her on an international trip to visit at least one of the WAGGGS sites by the time she graduates from high school. Girl Scouts is the best organization for girls and women in the world.

Hii, My name is Dayton. I am 10 years old and im a 2nd year guide.I have been in it for almost 6 years now and love it! My guiding group just got back from a camp called camp Olave.It is on the Sunshine Coast. We were there for only one night and 2 days but at least it was better then not going a all. There we had a certan theme and it is called Around the World. we studied all the different world centers.I really want to go to all of the world centers but the one i really want to go to is Sangam in India I also want to go to Our Cabana in Mexico. Those are the two world centers that I want to go to the most.

Two of us from Girlguiding Bedfordshire have just arrived in Iceland. We are looking forward to taking part in the latest initative supported by the EU Council for Youth Action where Guide and Scout leaders from approx 14 countries will be taking part in discussions and workshops on the theme Nature breaking down barriers. Hopefully some exciting projects and exchange work will come about over the next few years
