Take Action

WAGGGS aims not only to speak out on behalf of girls and young women everywhere, but also to empower them to speak out for themselves. Only when girls and young women raise their voice, join together and support each other can we bring about change and build a better world.

There are many ways for you and your fellow Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to take action in your country and become part of ’10 million girls...1 voice’.

Join in - take action!

Earn the WAGGGS Olympia badge and learn about China, the Olympic sports and peace and friendship between countries. The WAGGGS AIDS prevention badge teaches how to raise awareness, prevent infection and fight stigma and discrimination
It is never too late to contribute to World Thinking Day. Think about water and check out the fun activities. Find out how you can run your own advocacy project. You will find lots of ideas in ’what you can do’.
The Right to Food: A Window on the World is a comic book about the right of every human being to be free from hunger, published by WAGGGS and FAO. Explore the animated online version. Have a look at WAGGGS’ call to action for World AIDS Day: ’tell 10 Girls 10 facts about AIDS’ and test your knowledge about AIDS.
Test your English vocabulary and donate rice to developing countries through the UN in ’free rice’. UNICEF launched the call to action ’Young voices from conflict zones’. Find out more in UNICEF’s Voices of Youth.
Read more about how WAGGGS is working at the UN and its agencies in six cities: Geneva, Nairobi, New York, Rome, Paris and Vienna. Send your story to WAGGGS at wagggs@ wagggsworld.org. We want to know how Guiding has changed your life or the lives of others.
