More than 4,000 young Europeans ‘Dare to Share’ at Roverway 06

More than 4,000 young people from 30 European countries will discuss about globalization, employment and environment at Roverway 06 ‘Dare to share’. This event is offered by WOSM and WAGGGS to young people from 16 to 22. 

Participants will discover how to ‘dare’ to be engaged and responsible citizens, and ‘share’ the world, to see diversity as opportunity and our environment as home. 

Based on the theme of a new European Renaissance, Rovers and Rangers from 30 different countries in Europe will have the opportunity to celebrate diversity while empowering themselves as the architects of their future and of their communities: local, national and European. 

The first stage of the event involves the participants, split into over 100 groups, exploring different parts of Italy, while participating in local community service projects. On 10th August, they all converge on Loppiano, Florence, where they will share their experiences in over 100 workshops designed for them to develop and explore their experiences and opinions. 

Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission talking about Roverway06 said “Europe is a community of difference, different countries, different peoples, people coming, people going. This difference gives Europe great diversity. Roverway is a great celebration of that diversity, a celebration of what is different while recognising we are all equal.” 

Roverway06 is an event for young people, Scouts and Guides, aged between 16 and 22 organised by the Federazione della Italiano Scautismo on behalf of the European Scout Region and the Europe Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
