Peak experiences in leadership development’ was the theme of the Juliette Low Seminar (JLS), which took place at Our Chalet from 15 to 23 November. The programme was based on three of the WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) modules and included preparatory homework, tasks to reflect on personal experiences with leadership and prepare presentation of narratives of personal development.
Peak experience in leadership development
Fifty-one young women from around the world took the journey together in their quest to become better leaders by participating in the Juliette Low Seminar 2008.
The theme, Peak Experience in Leadership Development, was quite appropriate for the event, as Our Chalet is situated up in the mountains (4,500 feet above sea level).
The programme
The programme was divided into four parts. All activities are geared towards helping participants define their peak and equipping them to reach it. Read more about the programme.

Hi everybody!!! We are at the tea bar and we are dancing and learning irish dancing!!! It's sooooo funny ... everyone is sharing their dances!! So you can read that we are having a great time! We are: Rachel who is teaching us Irish dancing and someone is also teaching us Latin america dances, Digne, Loise, Patricia, Paola (the teacher of latin american dances .. CAN CAN), Kathrine (the dj), Tsepang (the photographer), Janet (the hollywood actress) and Stephanie (the support of the teacher of latin america dance) Nadine (our leader!!! ).

Being at Our Chalet was one of my longterm dreams and am happy to say that am now living my dream. Thank You to everyone who made the seminar possible.
Planning team: thank you for your late nights and unwavering devotion to the movement, you are all stars.
Chalet staff: We all felt wlcome and at home thanks to your warm smiles and patience. You played a big part in making us all fell part of Our Chalet.
Kitchen coordinators: Thank you for the wonderful and nutritious meals that you prepared for us. It couldn't have been easy to cater for the different taste budds and not forgeting dietry, cultural and religious differences. You were all so wonderful and always smiling.
Participants: We may have had differences of opinion now and again but we did not let that dampen our spirits as we learnt something new everyday and climbed higher toward oue 'peaks'. We did eventually find our One Voice to say

JLS 08 change my life!!!! that`s all!.
It was the most beautiful expirience i had. I met girls of all the parts of the world and all us had one thing very very in commun BE A GUIDE-BE A LEADER. We all went there expecting to learn how to e a good leader but the thing is that we all went back to ours home knowing what a true leader means and how wonderful is to share our lidership with others.

Girllsss i misss uuuu!! I wish we can meet once more!
I hope everyone would have such an experience, this is one of a kind seminar I have been in. I have been through other seminars but this was the best ever maybe because it has the scouting spirit in it where we got so close from each other in a quick way!
I realy would like to say that JLS experience did change me alooooott and believe it or not, it helps you in guiding and and non guiding life.
No matter how much I do comment and write and say its an NO COOOMMENT experience which you should go through to understand what we are talking about.
