Surrey West International Gathering in 2008

Applications for Surrey West International Gathering (SWInG) 2008 are now open. The event, organized by Girlguiding Surrey West (UK), will take place from 2 to 9 August 2008 in Surrey, England. 

More than 500 girls, aged 10 to 18 years are expected to attend this event. There will be a range of activities and opportunities to make new friends and have fun.

SWInG camp will be held at Surrey West County Campsite, Tilford, Farnham, Surrey in the UK, approximately 50km from London. The site is a large grassed area surrounded by woodland with access to the River Wey.

The camp will be open to all female members of WAGGGS aged 10 to 18 years and adult leaders who may be accompanying them. The size of the group will be of a ratio of 2 leaders to 10 girls. 

Girls from the UK should be aged 10 years upwards and do not have to be accompanied by an adult, but must apply through their unit leader.

As you read this, my passport info is in the mail and my first fundraising event will be next month for this event! I've contacted my local council for an overseas packet and hopefully I'll bring a troop of at least 6 Junior Girl Scouts from Michigan, USA!!!
