What WAGGGS is doing in Durban
During the week before COP17, WAGGGS youth delegates will be contributing to environmental projects, at school and campground, and also they will receive training on advocacy, media interviews and project planning for their own projects. They will be involved in all the youth activities organized by YOUNGO, such as the 7th Conference of Youth (COY7), training and networking opportunity where they will run workshops.
During the first week of the COP17, youth delegates will attend the conference and the side events, speak on panels, give media interviews, run awareness raising activities, meet their government representatives and look after our exhibition stand where they will promote the WAGGGS/FAO climate change badge, the WAGGGS/FAO biodiversity badge and the 'we can save our planet' World Thinking Day campaign. We will showcase the excellent work that Girl Guides and Girl Scouts are already doing on climate change around the world.
