Working together with global partners to HIV and AIDS
With 12 million young people living with HIV and AIDS and 6,000 more infected daily it is a priority issue if girls and young women are to lead healthy and empowered lives.
To achieve maximum impact and empower youth around the world to take action, WAGGGS partners with UN agencies and international NGOs. Our main global partners on this issue are:
The Global Campaign is part of the Joint UN Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS). WAGGGS is member and this worldwide alliance of civil society groups, networks of women living with HIV, women’s organizations, AIDS service organizations, and the United Nations system, committed to strengthening AIDS programming for women and girls. The GCWA also helped fund the WAGGGS AIDS toolkit.
WAGGGS partnered with UNICEF UK to produce 'Just say yes to talking about and taking action on HIV and AIDS', an activity pack for Brownies and younger Guides, which was published as part of the Girlguiding UK 'Changing the world' campaign.
