Day 6 by Vanessa and Nomusa
Thursday, 5 March 2009
The highlight was the event hosted by WAGGGS: ‘Who Cares? Girls’ perspective on equal sharing in context of HIV/AIDS’.All five delegates spoke about their experience in their countries and how being a member of WAGGGS has empowered them to fight HIV and AIDS at home and worldwide.
We believe that we all did a great job showing our potential and that as young women we really can make a difference. We also challenged other young women to get involved and help fight HIV and AIDS in their communities.
Throughout the rest of the day we attended different sessions. Our evening ended by attending a screening of ‘A Powerful Noise’ a film that talks about how women and girls can and should be seen as powerful agents of change in their lives and communities. Overall it was a great day!

I have just read through the postings for the delegation and I am really glad to be able to keep track on all our activity out there. It sounds like you are all working very hard and getting WAGGGS seen and heard as well as having a amazing experience for yourselves in sharing on these broader issues for women in all our differences from across the world.
What a fantastic way to celebrate International Women's Day. What you are doing is so worth while.
Thank you for your tireless energy and experience.
