Global launch for HIV and AIDS resource

6 August 2008 The WAGGGS training toolkit on HIV and AIDS made its global debut at AIDS 2008 in Mexico City. The WAGGGS conference delegation included young women from five Member Organizations whose work inspired the development of the toolkit. Read more...

More volunteer opportunities

31 July 2008 Results from the WAGGGS online global survey exploring volunteering reveal that 40 per cent of the 2,605 respondents would like Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to organize more volunteer opportunities, volunteer training and greater recognition for volunteer efforts. Read more...

Welcome to our new members!

24 July 2008 Burundi, Chad, Dominica, Hungary, Malawi and Russia were accepted as Full Members of WAGGGS during the 33rd World Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa. Also, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lithuania and Syria were accepted as Associate Members of WAGGGS. Samoa and Vanuatu are no longer members. Drawing competition on climate and food

22 July 2008 WAGGGS and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) invite girls and young women from 6 to 20 years old to participate in the International Drawing Competition “Our World, Our Climate, Our Food”. The aim is to design a logo which will be used on posters, publications, T-shirts and activity badges. Read more...

UK will host the 34th World Conference
